It is our goal to help families carry financial burdens that threaten their ability to be self sufficient. Unfortunately, special events and holidays can sometimes be the very thing that pushes a family over the financial edge. To help alleviate the negative impact of these happy times, BCM offers the following seasonal programs.

Thanksgiving

Each November, BCM gives out gift certificates for families in need to purchase a turkey or the fixings their family needs to enjoy a happy, Thanksgiving meal.

Adopt A Family

Families that are in severe crisis are eligible for Adopt-a-Family. Generous neighbors sign up to purchase gifts and even decorations for all members of these struggling families. If you would like to adopt a family this Christmas, please email [email protected].

Prom Night at Buckhead THRIFTique

Prom is one of the most anticipated events of a high school student’s life, but many teens are excluded from this memorable event because of the expense. Buckhead THRIFTique partners with local highschools to offer free Prom dresses, tuxedos and accessories to low-income families. Dresses and other prom night essentials are donated by local stores and neighbours; if you would like to donate, please contact the Director of Volunteer and Community Relations.

Back to School at Buckhead THRIFTique

In 2013, BCM held its first annual Back to School Clothing Giveaway. Through the generosity of our neighbors, children in our housing programs each received two outfits, a pair of shoes, underwear and socks so they could start the new school year with confidence.

School Supply Giveaway

BCM partners with churches, community groups and local stores to host school supply drives that allow us to distribute backpacks filled with school supplies to local children.

Volunteer

If you would like to volunteer for a seasonal program, please contact the Director of Volunteer and Community Relations.
