What We Can Accept

When you donate to Buckhead THRIFTique, you’re helping keep people from becoming homeless and work to elevate their possibilities for economic empowerment. Just a quick reminder – Before you pack your donations for Buckhead THRIFTique, please check your items against our lists of what we typically accept and what we are unable to accept. We thank you for reviewing these guidelines before donating.

What We Cannot Accept

It’s hard to say “No Thank You” to a donation when our operating funds are realized through the sale of donated materials. Items can be refused for some very good reasons: Some items are not recyclable or contain hazardous waste. Some do not meet standards issued by the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission. Others cost more to transport, repair or refurbish than they can be sold for in our store. Buckhead THRIFTique, drivers and staff reserve the right to decline any items that we consider not suitable for resale or use in our facility.

Exceptions! Of course, there are exceptions to these guidelines. Brand new items still in packaging will most likely be accepted. All final decisions are at the discretion of Buckhead THRIFTique.

When you are going through your donations, please keep in mind that we can’t accept anything broken or in poor condition. Buckhead THRIFTiquedoes not have a repair facility so please recycle anything that you know we can’t sell. When planning to donate, stop to think – if you would give that item to a family member or friend. Items that don’t meet the current safety standards of the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission, including recalled items, are not accepted.

Being green is at the heart of Buckhead ‘s philosophy. You may not realize it, but when you donate your gently used items to Buckhead THRIFTique or shop, you set in motion a whole series of earth-friendly activities. Every item you donate or purchase at Buckhead THRIFTique is one less item thrown away. By recycling items through your donations and purchases, we reuse viable resources and reduce waste on our planet. Additionally, your donated items create many layers of value. By providing revenue to support our mission and programs, your donated items keep people from becoming homeless and work to elevate their possibilities for economic empowerment.

You can help Buckhead THRIFTique give back to the community through Buckhead Christian Ministry (BCM) by making a financial donation. No donation is too small and there are many ways to help. BCM has been committed to the community since 1987. Each day, BCM intervenes in the lives of individuals and families to keep people from becoming homeless and work to elevate their possibilities for economic empowerment. Through our longer-term programs, BCM also provides supportive housing, financial education, debt remediation, and savings matches. You can make a community impact with a monetary donation in memory of someone, through unrestricted giving, planned giving or a recurring gift. Over 85 cents of every donated dollar are invested in our services to people – so your dollar goes further with Buckhead Christian Ministry.
